MSL Pointer Review: The author powerfully points out through this famous parable that how you change with the outside world determines whether you'll win or lose in business and life.

This litle book made me take baby steps into changing the way I see my current membership into Unemployment Ville. Yes, I have to move forward in a more positive way. This book made me see things a lot different, now. I have told my friends about this book (never done that before, ever!). Who Moved My Cheese and one other book has given me that extra push to even take a shot at the american dream of owning a business - an internet franchising business. What ever happens to the business is not an issue. The main thing is that I was able to get out of my comfort zone and do something diferrent and take risk for a change. True, my cheese was not moved... it was gone, but there's no other way but forward. The "employment" world is changing as you know it. You have got to watch your cheese or better yet make your own, if you know what I mean.

This is an interesting book with a simple message. The message is that we need to embrace change. This is a timely message in the current era of almost continuous change. However, the message is oversimplified and can be misleading if one does not read it with care. One does not always embrace any change but rather, the first step is to assess the need for change. If the need is clearly there, then one goes about planning for the change, implementing the change and consolidating it if it is beneficial.

Yes, there are times when we need to accept change. If you are stuck with a dead end job, or if the atmosphere at the work place is such that you have to dread going there every morning, clearly there is need for change. In this case, this book can provide the required inspiration for those who are reluctant to make any change.

The parable of the mice make the book interesting, particularly for youngsters. The book is small enough that one can read it within an hour. I read it at an airport when my flight was delayed and I did not notice the one hour delay.

However, if you really want to learn about change and how to manage the process, then this is not the right book. The book simply lacks sufficient substance to be of any guidance in any major change programme in an organisation or in our personal lives.
