Profound yet simple. Life changing. Contrary thinking to our unsuccessful ways. When Deepak Chopra tells us to quit wasting energy trying to convince others of our opinions, I will need some time to implement that into my life. I know it will come, because now when I am done trying to convince others of my point of view, to no avail, I think back to his advice, and realize I need to acquire it as a natural trait. Realizing each time how much time and energy I just wasted. This just scratches the surface.
The other profound lesson that is changing my life is that the question we should be asking ourselves, is "How can I help, How can I serve" instead of "What's in it for me" Combining that with giving freely, in line with the laws of nature, is giving me a new foundation for forming a company I am working on. It completely shifted my focus to helping, instead of demanding. I know that by serving freely the interests of my patrons, I will receive like kind in return. Not because I require it, but rather because that is the way it flows; even to the point of concentrating my efforts now on helping the maximum amount of people, rather than making them customers.
All of this is predicated on the necessity to meditate to get in touch with your inner... as he calls it, the embryo of your God self, which is a part of the infinite potentiality, the essential energy of all things. In so doing, making the unmanifest into the manifest. Some say that all of mankind's problems can be reduced to his inability to sit still, quietly, for 15 minutes.
Deepak Chopra and Dr Wayne Dyer co-authored a book. I thank Dr Wayne Dyer for showing me how to meditate by simply lying down or sitting, and gently letting all thoughts leave my mind. Each thought is tied to an emotion. When all thoughts finally leave, a profound change occurs. I arise feeling completely renewed. Deepak Chopra is now introducing me to new ways to utilize this new domain, to bring my desire and intention into fulfillment. (As long as my desire is in keeping with helping and serving)
Forgive me for attempting to put the words of this book, into my own expression. Please read this book. It will profoundly change your life, especially if you read it again, and again. Not just reading, but also examining your own life, in relation to the new, profound, simple truths that you wish you knew all along, and all of the time. I am already beginning to experience some of the bliss and joy that he has taught me how to acquire. I see others and wish I could share it with everyone. I know it would sound fairy tale like to some, but I know the incredible knowledge this book contains to be the truth.
I wanted to say that although this book is based on his other work, "Creating Affluence" I like The Seven Spiritual Laws better. It is a more practical, put it to use approach. Creating affluence is less profound, and earth moving. A great book, but be sure and get the Seven Spiritual Laws.

It is always nice to find someone out there that thinks the same way you do, however express it much better.
In The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, Deepak Chopra describes the fundamental principles of the universe and how we as part of the universe can be successful. Throughout the book he has to slow sown and explain how he is using many of the words as we usually give them different meaning. Then there are a few times that he has to turn to Indian words instead of making up new ones. Many say he is based in Ancient Vedic concepts yet if you did not know of them you would relies these are concepts of the now.
He hits the deck running with this book so if you have not been exposed to these concepts before you may need to re-read the book several times. And this book was not meant to jus be read you need to practice the concepts to understand them. This book is based on "Creating Affluence" and does not have the size to contain a lot of background reasoning for drawing conclusions. Your practice off the laws will do that for you.
The concepts are too simple to give the titles any meaning, however here they are:
1. The Law of Pure The source of all creation is pure consciousness...
2. The Law of Giving The universe operates through dynamic exchange...
3. The Law of "Karma" or Cause and Effect Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind...
4. The Law of Least Effort Nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease...
5. The Law of Intention and Desire Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment...
6. The law of Detachment In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty...
7. The law of "Dharma" or Purpose in life Everyone has a purpose in life...
Be sure to also listen to the audio to here how he emphasizes.

This book is a great, concise yet somehow also elaborate, description of seven amazing ideas that if absorbed and used can certainly change your life. I loved this book so much that I read it several times. It is priceless and worth owning. I also recommend a book that has additional similarly concise and powerful information, a slightly different perspectice, and some really great how-to exercises. The book, is Effortless Wellbeing, by Evan Finer. It includes mental and physical practices, as well as ideas help you be authentically well. The two books together would be a great combination. Highly recommended! |

I completely enjoyed this program. Deepak Chopra did a fantastic job instructing on the concepts and laws of drawing abundance to you. The program was able to hold my intrest and provoke a great deal of thought. This was the start of my exploration of the spiritual nature that we all have. I purchased it because I wanted to learn tricks to have better luck and make more money, what I got was far beyond what I ever expected in terms of enlightenment. I did find more abundance and I also found a new thankfulness for the fantastic things I have in my life. You may say that it helped me draw more of the good stuff into my life but also allowed me to see my wealth that I had never seen before. I am grateful for having gotten this information and hope you find the joy and wealth in you're life as a benifit from this program. Small investment with a big return. |

It was by pure accident that I bought this book. Some friends and I had traveled to another city to celebrate another friend's birthday and ended up staying overnight at her house. Well, as I was up earlier than the others because we'd stayed up late visiting, I decided to go for a little walk so I wouldn't disturb them and what did I find but a neighbor having a rummage sale. I am a sucker for books and couldn't help but pick up some and this was one of them. Everyone wants to be successful, right?
There are seven laws: Pure Potentiality, Giving, Karma or Cause and Effect, Least Effort, Intention and Desire, Detachment, Dharma or Purpose in Life. Much of the advice that he gives coincides with the bible. Like not judging, giving, wishing everyone well, etc. I tried a little of it and felt good and I really think that if you apply his instructions in life, it will make a big difference. It isn't always as easy to do as he says because we have a lifetime of living a different lifestyle, but I feel if I am persistent, it will make all the difference. I am just going to have to work out the stress and worry I feel about the direction our country is heading, figure out how to use his laws constructively to help solve the problems. I believe it will be possible. Anyway, for what it is worth I believe if you follow his instructions that you will succeed. Very interesting book!

I have read almost all of Deepak Chopra's books. From some I gained much, from some I gained little, but from this one I gained the most. It's filled with 7 common-sense principles for attaining your goals and being happy. All the principles presented are profound yet simple - some more practical than others. All are concepts most of us already believe in but don't know exactly how to express. This book clears it up. If you're going to buy just one Deepak Chopra book, let this be the one. I also highly recommend Open Your Mind, Open Your Life: A Book of Eastern Wisdom by Taro Gold which is a collection of hundreds of thoughts from Eastern wisdom. Open Your Mind, Open Your Life and The Seven Spiritual Laws are my two favorite books of wisdom of all time. Excellent! |
