Ginsberg’s excitement is palpable and infectious, but more importantly, it provides an excellent medium for instruction.

You will find a trove of gems about setting up shop and becoming a power seller on eBay.

As the CEO of a small 4 person start up, I was referred to this book by a friend (and avid eBay seller). Although I was highly skeptical, I purchased on the book Amazon and awaited for it to arrive. It arrived on a tuesday afternoon. The next day, read on the train to and from work. I was done by the time my train arrived home at the end of the day.

I am so glad I made the decision to take my friend's advice.

Adam Ginsberg spends the book using stories and analogies that are so easy to understand and relate to. He gives you examples of why you might be overwhelmed at first - and then outlines how to overcome any initial obstacles you might have.

This book contains 100% actionable, specific and flexible step-by-step processes for building a personal ebay success system. It isn't hard to do - I got mine up ang going in two days. I learned how to incorporate eBay into the success of my start up company and the results have been phenomenal.

With the help of my small staff, we're now making over $3,000 per week on eBay. I'm a better leader and my staff truly understands what they need to do on a daily basis for their success within our organization.

If you're reading this review because you're wondering if this book might be worth the time, let me encourage you to get it - regardless if you're new to eBay or a seasoned Powerseller...this is the best eBay book I have every read.

In case you're wondering, I purchased a copy for every one of my employees, and I will be insisting that new hires start their careers with my firm by first reading this book and setting up their own personal ebay user ID based on the teachings of this book. That's how good it is.

I've been a member of Ebay for 7 years. During that time I've bought more than I've sold there - but learned a lot through the entire process. Adam's book has given me the motivation to seriously start thinking I can eventually quit my sucky daytime job and maybe go into business on Ebay full-time. And, as Adam correctly points out, you don't have to immediately quit your day job to get started and found out if such a move is really for you. Experiment with his strategies, sell a few items and see what happens.

Adam also smartly addresses the ubiquitous question every potential eBay entrepreneur asks, "What in the world DO I sell on Ebay?" Let's just say that Adam gives a pretty convincing evidence that you could sell something like used popsicle sticks on Ebay - if you know how to structure your ad and overall Ebay business the right way. More importantly, he demonstrates that if you change your thinking on what to sell - you begin to see a whole new world of opportunity on saleable items.

Adam's approach is gripping - I nearly finished the book the day I received it - because you feel like that even though it's obvious he's no dummy when it comes to business - he readily admits his weaknesses that obviously affect his early business acumen on Ebay. Yet he's willing to learn, adjust as a result, and finally improve whatever Ebay task he is doing - something that certainly changed the scope of his auction operation - and a path that any Ebayer interested in boosting his business can perform. Adam sprinkles his Ebay ventures with touchy-feely stories about family, friends, and life in general. One really feels he's just your average, nice, family guy who just so happens to discover Ebay - then distinguish himself from every other Tom, Dick, and Harry selling there - to create a multimillion dollar business.

After reading Adam's book I'm more convinced than ever that I too, can do the same.

This book is a great basic start for anyone who has no experience with ebay and a good reminder of some helpful tips for those of us who have experience but have not gotten seriously involved yet. It also has very good advice for the beginner in the entrepreneurial world regarding taxes, setting up your bookkeeping, and other important things you should be doing when you start a business.

I finished reading this eBay book. I've been thinking about selling all the StufF I have (childofpackrats is my handle), but was only able to plunge in after reading... and constantly referring... to this book. Not only does it provide exactly the information that someone like me needs, but it's written in such a wonderful conversational writing style. It's rare to find a book that's both conversational/easy to read AND easy to use as a reference guide.

It's really gotten me off on the right footing... great pictures, thinking like a buyer (titles), not being afraid to say what's wrong with the item, etc etc. I took it as a really good sign that my first item had a bid within 6 hours! And now that I've put 3 more items on eBay, I have bids on two of them within about a day!

No big bucks or bidding wars yet, but if I can sell all the collected things from our house (we're two widows who had accumulated not only our own stuff, but that from our deceased spouses' lives AND our parents who are all gone... what can I say?!) before we retire in Panama in 5 years, that will be great. Once I'm more adept at this, I will consider selling other things, but if I only make $1 for each item, I will have a bundle of $$ and know that someone is enjoying it.

I highly recommend this book. Thank you for having a great perspective on improving this troubled world of ours.

Adam Ginsberg has hit the nail on the head with this book. A previous reviewer said that you can get all this information right on eBay itself, and that's true, BUT Ginsberg adds so much extra information and tips that you will find that this book is a great investment. His anecdotes about his own experiences with becoming an eBay seller are humorous and very useful. We learn from his mistakes. This book is valuable both to the eBay seller-hobbyist as well as the Power Seller.

I have to agree with many of the reviews on this book, it's simply fantastic and straight to the point. I also own Starting an Ebay business for Dummies, and while that is also a good book I don't feel it's as easy to follow or to the point as much as Ginsberg's book is. Look at it this way, Adam Ginsberg is an Ebay power seller and millionaire, and this book is simply him sharing his advice on how to succeed as a seller on Ebay. While Marsha Collier (author of Starting an Ebay Business for Dummies) is also a successful Ebay seller, she is nowhere near the power seller that Ginsberg is. So I kind of look at it as your getting better advice, better techniques, and and overall better approach in this book on how to sell on Ebay. There is no book out there that is going to tell you what to sell on Ebay, that is something you need to decide, but if you want the most clear guideline on how to start an Ebay business from scratch and work your way up to either a part time or full time business then this is the book for you.
