MSL Pointer Review: A haunting tale of miracles, and the battle between Good and Evil, which in the end leaves you with chills of emotion and tragedy. A statement about life, death, the beauty and horror of humanity. A great masterpiece of the bestseller author Stephen King.

The Green Mile is an instant classic. Stephen King has written yet another great book to go in with the many great books he has written in the past. The book starts off with John Coffey being put into jail for killing two little girls and to be sentenced to death by the electric chair. The prison staff is scared of John Coffey and his enormous size, but the staff will soon realize the truth. John Coffey is blessed with special powers. Coffey uses his powers to heal main character Paul Hitchcombs urinary infection. Hitchcomb doesn't know until after Coffey used his powers that Coffey is out of the ordinary. The prison staff all learn about his powers when "Wild Bill" Wharton kills Eduard Delacroix's pet mouse Mr. Jingles, and Coffey uses is hands and makes Mr. Jingles come back to life. Along the way from the many events that occur you will not want to put this book down.

This is by far one of the many books by Stephen King that I liked. This novel gets away from the usual horror books you are used to by King, but that goes to show you how good of a writer he is. Everything in this book was good, it was hard to find things wrong with it. Some people don't like the ending, but if you know Stephen king you sometimes don't know what to expect at the end. I would defiantly recommend this book to any Stephen King fans, even if you are not a King fan, this book is still for you. This book was well written and the theme and mood of the story made you feel as if you were there when it happened. This is one of my all time favorites.

This book is a real tearjerker, and I am speaking as a guy who has never been that emotionally effected by a novel. Any book that has you sympathizing with a rodent and a child abuser must be powerful. But the real story, which is the relationship between a guard and a gentle giant is heartbreaking, when the guard must choose duty over truth. What is even more surprising to me is the novelist: Stephen King. I have read several of King's books including Pet Cemetery, Thinner and It. These are all excellent manuscripts, but where did he pull The Green Mile from? As others have stated, always read the book before seeing the movie.

I was deeply touched by this book. It is captivating and engrossing. It took me all of two days to finish. It was hard for me to actually put the book down. The story is wonderfully written and the characters are very well developed, almost so that you would think they were real people. This book made me laugh and cry all at the same time. It is different than any other Stephen King book I have ever read in the sense that is not filled with the usual horror found in most of King's works, but it none the less a haunting read, just not in the way you would think. It is one of the best books I have read in years. I would highly recommend it.

When I first saw the movie The Green Mile, I absolutely loved it. Few movies can bring tears to my eyes, but the film succeeded in doing just that. Anyway, seeing as I loved the movie so much, I picked up the book. Although it didn't have much in it that was left out of the movie (even the dialogue in the film is pretty much unchanged from that of the book) I still enjoyed it. The plot is so multi-layered I can't even think how to put it into words, but if you don't read this heartfelt masterpiece you'll be missing out on one of the greatest novels of our time. If you thought Stephen King only wrote horror, think again.

P.S., if you're too lazy to read, at least give the movie a rental.

This is a dark but wonderful story. Stephen King goes into such detail with his character exploration and scene description that I could smell and taste this novel. The reader, Frank Muller, does an amazing job. His flawless character voices enhanced my enjoyment of the audio book so much. I listened to the book during my daily 2-3 hour commute to work. I actually looked forward to driving the lethargic Los Angeles freeway during the time I listened to The Green Mile. Thank you to all involved in this outstanding production.
