I am a personal chef and find myself returning again and again to Everyday Italian for inspiration and simple, great recipes. My cooking clients have greatly enjoyed her Chicken Piccata, Stuffed Tomatoes, Turkey Meatballs with Marinara, Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Tuna and Tomato Sauce, Grilled Lamb Chops, and Steak Florentine. Nothing I've tried has been bad, unlike many cookbooks which make you wonder what you did wrong and if they actually tested their recipes.

Authentic? Seems close to me. But whatever it is, it works for me and my clients. I can't wait for her next cookbook! Buy this!

I have found the recipes in this book to be very useful. They are easy to prepare with a minimum amount of specialized ingredients. She brings many new ideas to those of us who have been preparing Italian meals for years. Especially delicious is the polenta and the rib-eye steak with roasted peppers and arugula.

Before receiving Everday Italian as a Chistmas gift,I hated to cook. From grocery shopping to reading recipes, I despised it all.

Now I've finally found a cookbook that makes me want to cook! Giada's recipes are easy to follow and for the most part, quick to make. Best of all, most of her ingredients can be found at your local grocery store for a reasonable price.

At first I was irritated by the lack of finished recipe pictures in the cookbook. Once I started cooking, I realized I didn't even need them - the recipes are that simple. I'm not a gourmet chef so I don't want complicated recipes, even if they do taste a bit more robust or authentic. I'm just somebody trying to find the inspiration to enjoy cooking and eating again.

I've enjoyed almost every recipe I've made from this cookbook and I look forward to cooking at the end of a long work day. My favorite recipes have been the marinara sauce (I can't believe I made my own sauce), the bolognese sauce, the chicken piccata, and the chicken parm. Tonight I'm going to make ziti with asparagus, smoked mozzarella, and prosciutto.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who thinks they don't have the time or the finances to make fresh, great tasting Italian food. If the thought of one more night of grocery store, jarred tomato sauce makes you want to scream, this book is for you!

I am not a cookbook collector, however I eagerly anticipated Giada's first cookbook after being an avid viewer of her television show and watching her superb special on Italy. Upon viewing the book I purchased it immediately and proceeded to the store to buy some ingredients for Sunday dinner. This is the cookbook that will revive the cook who is getting bored with old receipes. Some dishes in the book are indeed old receipes, but Giada uses fresh ingredients and recreates favorites in a new manner.

I think I love the creativity featured here more than anything else. And even those who may live in the most backward areas of the country will be able to find the ingredients used here. Regardless of what type of Italian fare interests you, it will be found inside of the pages of this fabulous book. Congrats Giada on a masterpiece.

I have only begun trying to cook in the last couple of years. My father gave me this book for Christmas last year to my surprise. I love her show but always thought everything looked too fattening and complicated to actually make, but what a lovely surprise this book turned out to be. For a beginner cook, this has helped me tremendously! From every basic sauce to every classic Italian dish, Giada makes it so simple to understand and try. True, the book is lacking in a lot of photos of the food, but the recipes are so well written and clear that I haven't really had the need for the pictures. So far every dish I have tried has turned out amazing!!

What I find the most interesting is how many of the recipes require so few ingredients. Her penne with asparagus, smoked mozzarella, and prosciutto is absolutely to die for! I truly feel this book has helped me start to master "the basics" of Italian cooking. After I've covered the majority of this book, I am looking forward to trying her 2nd one, which in my opinion looks a little more challenging in terms of Italian cooking. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is new to cooking, wanting to learn how to make Italian food at a casual pace without just jumping in head first.

I love Italian food, so I though this book should be a good one to have in my collection. I love it, the recipes are simple but yet delicious, I use it almost everyday. I will recommend it to everyone that wants to cook Italian food it 's a must have. I also bought Simple and Simply Delicious by Sylvie Rocher who is mainly French recipes!

What an absolutely fabulous cookbook. The recipes taste good and the instructions are easy to follow. If you're hung up on whether the work has "depth or meaning" as I read in one review, then maybe you're just thinking a little too hard about this. Bottom line... it's a cookbook, not a thesis exploring the major themes in Italian literature.

Seriously, though, Giada's book and her show have really inspired me to get into the kitchen and learn how to cook. Since I'm getting married in a couple of months, I thought I might want to learn to cook something. I discovered "Everyday Italian" along with several other shows on The Food Network and have since become a Food Network junkie.

I have just loved making the recipes in Giada's cookbook. Before trying these recipes everything I cooked was just ok. And I could never figure out why. So I stopped trying to cook in my 20s. After making a few of the recipes in Giada's book, I'm starting to think maybe I really can cook! And I'm looking at buying Bobby Flay's "Bold American Cooking" next. So, thank you Giada for your book and your show. I can't imagine that even a seasoned cook wouldn't love to make food that tastes as good as the recipes in Giada's book. As Giada writes, "cooking should be fun". And with her book, it is!

I can't seem to get enough Italian cookbooks (have 6 so far) and Giada's cookbook is among them. I have learned to love Italian cuisine from watching her show and even though I am a tradionalist when it comes to cooking, her recipes have made me change my way of thinking. I love her Lemon Spaghetti much better than the others I have tried and her Smashed Parmesan Potatoes are a big hit in my home. The recipes are very easy to follow and if you can't find certain ingredients, Giada offers alternatives. All in all, this is the easiest cuisine to prepare and it sure does taste good!
