Rachael Ray has done it again! She has made a delicious cookbook with fun an easy recipes. On every page you find something than sounds even more taintalizing than the last. I made the pine nut crusted chicken and the fennel slaw and they were amazing!

But, just a disclaimer, these are by no means 30 minute meals like it says on the cover. These recipes take at least and hour for me to make. Not all of us have Food Network oompa loompas pre-cutting our vegetables and cleaning the dishes.

Edit: Here's a list of all of the recipes I have made from the cookbook to date. All of them are absolutely delicious.
    1. Scramblewiches
    2. Southwestern Pasta Bake
    3. Rosemary, Parmigiano, Pine Nut Breaded Chicken w/ Fennel Slaw
    4. Tomato Basil Pasta Nests
    5. Roasted Garlic and Eggplant Marinara Nests

This book is easy and very detailed, enough for me to be able to cook and not spend the whole day in the kitchen. Great book and great gift for someone. Love the fact her recipes have 'real' ingredients in them.

I am not a very flash cook, and am a bit lazy when it comes to cooking evening meals -not so good for the palate or waistline.

I picked up this book and found recipes that can be prepared, cooked and on the table within 30 minutes -perfect when you've had a hard day at work or the kids are hungry and ratty at the end of the day.

Lots of different ethnicities, flavours etc. Most of the ingredients are common and found in your local supermarket (I get really annoyed about having to go to specialty shops to get ingredients because I am so busy). I have found the recipes I have tried so far great for myself, my husband and our young children like them too.

There is certainly a huge array of recipes, with one for every day of the year. We have chosen 5-6 of our favourites and put them into our regular rotation, but try something new every few days. Highly recommended

How the ever smiling Rachael Ray manages to be as bright and energetically cheerful as she does, while doing several television series, writing cookbooks and travel guides, touring the world for book signings, and on top of all that doing it while being a newlywed defies all explanation, but I sure admire her for it all. This latest volume from the kinetic Ms. Ray features recipes, menus and meal plans for one full year With No Repeats! Everything in this book is kitchen tested and sounds delicious. Virtually every cuisine from around the globe has found its way in here, as have meatless dishes, soups, desserts, salads, picnic and BBQ fare, formal dinners, special occasion dinners, brunches, quickie fixings and more complicated undertakings, it's all here. And what's best is Rachael Ray has made certain even the most uninitiated of household cooks can make everything in this book. It's that tried and tested and it's that easy. Yes, really. I like Rachael Ray and am glad she's getting the kind of recognition her hard work and down to earth genuinely nice personality deserve. I give this cookbook an unhesitant recommendation.

My husband and I love this cookbook! We consider ourselves foodies and get bored with ordinary weekday meals. Not anymore. I've cooked 25-30 recipes from this book and we loved every bite. We have a lot of friends and family stop in for meals mid-week and they are also now raving fans. I agree that the do take more like 45 minutes unless you have everything prepped ahead of time but once you start cooking the steps move really fast so be ready. As to the comment about not being able to find the ingredients in a small town store - I can see that but we live in a suburb of a large city and have no trouble. It also helps that I grow most of the herbs in small planters to save on the grocery bill because they could be expensive and there would be a lot of waste. The portions are large - a recipe for 4 will serve more than that or give you leftovers but I promise you these leftovers will not get thrown out. And as to the comment about all the fat and cream- I've managed to lose weight while eating this every night- if you look closely the amount of butter or cream, if any, in Most recipes is minimal (of course, it doesn't claim to be a Light cookbook, anyway). I gave the book 5 stars because as a stay-at-home mom of 2 kids under 4 I need to look forward to cooking dinner (and getting groceries) and now I do! As a bonus, my husband says it's like eating in a fancy restaurant every night.

I have had quite a few nights lately where I am planning dinner without enough time to plan or hit the store, and this book has been awesome. Many of the recipes involve simple ingredients that I often have in the fridge, like sausages and potatoes, spinach leaves and tomatoes, onions, etc.

The recipes are unusual enough that I often wouldn't think of the combinations on my own (pretzel encrusted chicken, mmmm!), but are truly fast and easy to make. I am not much of a cook and am usually pretty tired when I get home from my job as a landscaper, so it really says something that every time I have turned to this book right before dinnertime, I have found at least a few options for a meal to make that night with what I have on hand, all of which have been do-able and not too complicated to figure out.

I love the fresh take she has on combining everyday ingredients so they make something a bit different and special. I have felt really treated and like I was eating something delicious and reasonably healthy, each time I have made a meal from this book. The 30 minute claim has been pretty close to accurate for each one as well, unlike a lot of "quick" recipes I have tried, which expect you to have a lot of ingredients already cooked or prepared in advance.

I would also like to note that I am cooking for a Very picky eater, who doesn't like zucchini, beans, onions, garlic, bell peppers, anything sweet in his savory foods, many fishes, etc, and the structure of this book, of having a master recipe and then some variations that feel like a whole different meal but use the same general theme and directions, made it a lot easier to substitute for my picky eater's food dislikes. The variations were different enough that it was pretty simple to put together a bit of this and a bit of that from each recipe to make something that everyone in the house would enjoy.

I love Ray's obvious enjoyment of food and cooking, and her enthusiasm is catching! I am loving using her recipes as springboards to my own culinary experimentations, and her encouraging tone has really helped me enjoy cooking dinner even when I am in a hurry. This would be a great book to give to a college student or a new parent.

I was getting tired of making the same old thing for dinner every night. I enjoy cooking, but with two kids under the age of three, I don't have much time to do it. I happened upon this cookbook, and I absolutely Love it. Right after it arrived I spent about 20 minutes looking over the first 150 recipes and marked the ones that sounded good to me. I've made 15 of them so far. My family and I have liked them all and really loved 13 of them. I would make all of them again. I can't wait to try some more. Someday I'll actually look through the rest of the recipes, but for now I have plenty! For the most part, they take me about 30 minutes - some a little more, some a little less. This has gotten me excited about cooking again. I try three new recipes a week and have yet to be disappointed. If you're looking for some quick and very flavorful dinners, you can't go wrong with Rachel Ray and this book.

As a residential counclor at a home for special needs ladies one of our biggest challenges is dinner on a budget of 15-20 dollars for at times 8 people And we are encouraged not to make the same dish twice in one week. This book has become my best friend. All the igrediants are easily found at any grocery store and her techniqes for me are easy to follow. Now I know that some people find it hard to believe that her meals are healthy but most of them are and if not the are easily adaptable by using low fat varieties of cheese and milk and replacing regular pasta with whole wheat pasta (And get this Rachael encouages adapting her recipies to your own needs). If anything she has allowed me to expand my cooking horizons and keep easy homey meals on the table for the girls I work with to the point that many staff members brag about my cooking and ask me to show them. As for the parent claming your kids won't eat this stuff you may be surprised I used to tutor a girl who favorite food was lental soup and I have an 11 year old cousin whos favorite food is my spinch lasanga and strawberry and spinch salad.

I like this book. There are fresh ideas on old recipes (like mac and cheese). I can't say I love all the variations of the same base and counting them as separate recipes, but I do enjoy the fact my kids will try the majority of them.
  • Jaronimo (MSL quote), USA   <2007-02-13 00:00>

We have prepared about 40 meals from this book so far. Every single one of them was excellent! Thats why I am rating it 5 stars.

I have a couple of problems with the book. Not enough pictures for me, but thats a personal problem and I will deal with it. Half of the meals took longer than 30 minutes to prepare, one took 55 minutes. Oh well, maybe I am a slow reader?

Those two problems are not major enough to have me downgrade my 5 star rating, the quality and great taste of all the recipes I have tried so far more than outweigh those items.

Its a great book and I believe you will be happy if you add it to your collection.
