This book contains some of the best receipes. I've used so many cookbooks but have never seen one like this.

Martha Stewart and her team have created a book not only for beginning bakers but also long time bakers. It includes tips and tricks that will make baking much more simple. Each receipe is Easy, yes easy, and turns out wonderful. There is almost no room to mess up in these recipes, so the end result is beautfiul and delicious. You must try the cakes when you buy the book, they're to die for.

I bought the book because I really trust Martha Stewart to provide excellent instructions, yummy recipes and all the tools and skills to perfect a dish. I was not dissapointed with the Baking Handbook!

The recipes are well written, accurate and expertly described. The photographs are beautiful and really give you the "ideal" to reach for.

    Bravo Martha... Bravo!

I love baked goods and I have said before that I could eat my way through a bakery. Although I am a very tallented cook, I have struggled with baking my own sweets. Deserts in my house were usually purchased and rarely homemade. I intend on changing that with this book!

Martha and her staff have put together a fantastic collection of baking recipes, and not just deserts either. There are other great things in this book including pizza dough, quick breads, and yeast breads. The instructions are easy to understand and the photographs are beautiful (I'd eat the book if I could). There is an extensive section of photographs and explainations of specific tools that are handy to have when baking. Every page is filled with valuable information.

It is my challenge to make each and every one of these recipes. I'll try a new one every weekend, if not more often, until I finish. By that time I am certain I'll be the one my friends call on for desert or fresh baked bread, and I won't have to buy my pies any longer. Thanks Martha, you are truly a "Good Thing"!

PS: I have already made the "pistachio cranberry biscotti" and they are fantastic!

I have a ton of baking books already, as baking is one of my hobbies. This book really stands out because it is so skillfully organized, and teaches even the experienced baker a few tips. Everything I have made so far has been absolutely delicious, and has turned out perfectly. It's not one of those books that has recipes only experienced chefs can complete successfully.

What's also special is how unbelievably gorgeous the photography is. It really makes you want to throw on an apron and start mixing.

I am a cookbook freak, I have over 200 cookbooks and I think this one can be clasified as the top best baking books I have. For me photography is crucial in a book because I think what you see is what you eat. I adored the pictures in the book. With the book I ordered Martha's dvd for baking as well and that was extremely useful too especially the section called bloopers. My son asks me to put it on before he goes to bed it is great fun.

I do love this book. I sat down and read it cover to cover, in fact! The photos are the best part, absolutely gorgeous. So far, the recipes I've tried have been excellent. I especially appreciate that recipes note how long items will keep once baked. I wish more cookbooks would include that info since I like to know how long I can expect to keep the food!

Overall, this is a thorough book with Many recipes and truly beautiful (and useful) pictures.

I just made the Coconut Cake yesterday. It was definitely worth the effort of around 5 hours (my first attempt at cake) for a cake so rich tasting and infused with creamy coconut flavour. A note about this recipe: when making Coconut Curls to garnish, don't forget to bake your coconut before cracking it open - I missed this step and ended up with raw, tough and fibrous curls.

This book has high resolution close-ups of the end result of each recipe and is beautifully organized. I especially appreciate the page about required equipment at the beginning of each of the sections (cake, cookies, etc) with pictures of all the tools. Recipes are as straight-forward as possible, with no unnecessary information and are therefore fool-proof. Be aware that the recipes are written assuming that you are using a stand mixer to mix everything. I made Seven-Minute Frosting yesterday but using my hand mixer with 1 of the 2 beaters missing, it took an HOUR for the egg whites to get to frosting state. Whether you are a beginning or experienced baker, do not hesitate to get this book (if not just for the pictures! Yum)!

I've never wanted to spend so much time in the kitchen, but when I got this book, I wanted to jump right in and start straight away. It's filled with great ideas and recipes and lots of useful and helpful information. The pictures look great, and some of the cakes I've made look a little close to them. This is one of the best baking books I own and I can't wait to get back in the kitchen. It's nice having friends ask me for recipes of things I've made. Just a note of caution; don't put on weight with all these goodies.

This book is everything I expected it to be - fabulously attractive, great photographs, and delicious recipes. I was a little worried that Martha would send me off on a wild goose chase for too many arcane and high-priced ingredients, but that has proven not to be the case. These recipes are straightforward and simple. The book showcases a wide variety of baked goods, but mostly consists of treats that are reasonably well-known by all. This is exactly what I needed in my cookbook arsenal, and I can already picture handing it down to my children (who are 3, 2, and 10 months!)so I am jotting my own notes in the margins. Definitely a keeper.

This book is an extensive collection of the best baking recipes from Martha Stewart. It's definitely not the kind of cookbook you use once and then put away for months. It's got the usual recipes, but some very unique ones as well. Its my go-to book for baking anything. It may not be for the baker that doesn't mind using store bought cookie dough, but there are some easy ways to bybass the time-consuming parts - like buying frozen puff pastry dough for example. I'd recommend it to anyone who truly enjoys the entire baking process.
