MSL Pointer Review:
Just like a glimmer in the cold winter night, it is such a warmhearted and cute story telling kids about bear, hibernation as well as friendship and sharing, with beautiful language and pictures. Both you and your children would love it too much to part with it. |

This is Karma Wilson's first book, but after you read it, you can bet you'll know that it will definately not be her last! Talent abounds with this book from Margaret McElderry Books/Simon and Schuster. Jane Chapman's pictures are refreshingly unique, and endearing. When you pick up this book, you will think that you are picking up a piece of art. And you are!
The text and the pictures simply sing with the flurry of the winter snowflakes. Soft, unexpected, rich, deep, and crisp!
The story is about a bear who keeps snoring on, even after some animals stop by to have tea and popcorn with him. But the party goes on without him as he sleeps. The chomp and crunch of the rabbit, badger and mouse eating honey-nuts- still doesn't wake him up! A fleck of pepper finally rouses him, and they do the party all over again for the sake of the bear.
Buy two... one for your best friend who will want to borrow your copy!

If you are a lover of children's literature, you have to add this book to your collection. This is a beautiful story about forest animals gathering in a bear's cave while he sleeps. This story emphasizes the beauty of friendship. The author is gifted with words and the illustrations are incredible. My favorite children's book of all time! |

"Bear" is irresistible. The rhythm, rhyme and pacing of this book make it a page turner with several surprises waiting to be discovered. Even after several readings, this is a book a child will return to again and again. Karma Wilson's language and playful style is perfectly complemented by Jane Chapman's soft, adorable, cozy illustrations. A perfect picture book! |

Bear Snores On is at the very top of a long list of my favorite children's books. Every time I read it I am reminded why I love it so much. The illustrations are absolutley beautiful. The rhyming text is adorable. The story itself is the cutest. My children, 3 & 1 1/2, love this book. You can't get any better than Bears Snores On. The follow up, Bear Wants More is also very good. You will not be dissapointed with this book, I promise. |

Of the 1000s of children's books we own, this is without a doubt my very favorite. It embodies the spirit of childhood fun. Karma Wilson has perfected the art of frolicking poetry thereby teaching reading without seeming to teach at all. Jane Chapman's pictures are just as perfect as the text. We also love Bear Wants More, and are waiting impatiently for Karma Wilson's next books. |

Perfect for reading aloud to your child. Our son is only 5 months but he's captivated by the illustrations and responds to the reading. The illustrations are beautiful depicting a cozy night in a bear's cave with a group of animals who have a feast and the rhyming text is fun. Highly recommended. |

For her first book, Karma Wilson does an amazing job writing a children's story! This book is perfect to read anytime, but especially in the winter. It would be great fun to read aloud, and changes in the size of the print let you know when to get louder or softer. The story takes place in the cave the bear chooses to hibernate in. There is great fun following, as animals drop in. They start a fire, share tea, honey-nuts, and warmth and friendship, all while the bear continues to sleep. Finally, the bear must sneeze, and well, you have to read the rest to find out what happens! It ends with a surprising note, and will definitely bring a smile to you and your childs face. The illustrations by Jane Chapman go perfectly with the story. A must-read. |

The poem is well-written and adorable, the illustrations are funny and endearing. My little girl and I love this book. She points out various things about the pictures: bear's footprints in the snow leading up to the cave, for example, and tells me on every page, "Look, Mommy, bear still sleeping!"
So much fun to read again and again. We can't wait to get some more books about Bear. |

This is the best book in the world! My kids love the rhyming and enjoy the beautiful artwork. There's so much you can add in sound effects it's great! Highly recommended for a bedtime book, cuddle time read, etc. I also own Bear Wants More, though I don't think it quite has the same charm as this one. |
