This is the only Astrology book that I have used consistently for the past 22 years. Even though I have replaced my original mass market paperback with the new edition, I cannot bear to part with my coverless, coffee stained, taped-up & tattered original copy. Ahh, the memories...
This book is entertaining as well as useful to all levels of Astrology buff: from the chartless beginner (who can look up what sign their planets were in when they were born from the handy planetary tables that go up to the year 2030) to more advanced students with computer charts and house delineations. Debbi welcomes all readers with her rapier wit and brilliant prose. Her tome will guide you through the nuances of your horoscope and help you to understand yourself and others. This book is not just "sun sign" cookie cutter astrology - this is the real deal, with spot on descriptions of each planet and position that are candid and clever. She even shares her "secrets" to daily living with the "red lights-green lights" moon charts which will revolutionize your timing to get the most out of life. If Debbi has a fan club, please sign me up, as it's president! |

Hurray for the second edition!!! I carried Debbi Kempton Smith's original book (1982) through Europe and the Far East. It's torn and tattered but I can't let it go. It's like a kind old soul sitting on my shelf. I was thrilled to pick up the new edition, love the added chapters on the exoplanets. I keep this book at my bedside, and still to this day refer to it whenever I meet someone new, or plan an important date.
This book has saved me from disaster time and time again. It's also given me insight into why people act the way they do so I have a better understanding of them. I've never enjoyed an astology book as much as I've enjoyed this one. It's easy to read, informative, it's to the point, creative and expressive and wickedly funny. I still carry this book with me whenever I travel, even day trips to the beach, and it never fails to attract amazing and interesting people. I also have a copy at work, and my clients love it, love it, love it!
This is the best astrology book I've ever read. Debbi Kempton Smith is not only a brilliant writer, she's the best astologer alive today I finally got up the nerve for a reading, she was as charming as her book, and frightfully accurate with her insights and projections.
I'm a Debbi Kempton Smith junkie and I want another book!

This book is witty and fun AND gives insights into astrology: the way many things work together and sometimes just don't work at all!! Debbie has been my astrologer for years. She is excellent. She is accurate. She is funny. Just like her book, which I give to my friends as gifts. This is not a "how to" book or a beginners "learn astrology" book. It is a lot of years, hundreds of charts and tons of experience, her personal and professional experiences of astrology in real life. It's her spin, her book and every few months I re-read it, highlight certain parts of it and probably need a new copy to replace my old, dog-eared one! And of course, if something big is happening in my life or, according to the stars, about to happen, I check out Debbie's book, or just call her... I do love this book! |

I have been a student of astrology for over twenty years and this is my favorite guide. It is a pleasure to read and filled with amazing insights. The void of course moon tables which guide you through your high and low periods alone are worth the price of the book. Debbi goes even further by making astrology fun and teaching you how to make very accurate decisions. After reading the book and being astounded by the often humourous insights, do yourself a huge favor and schedule an astrology reading with Debbi herself! I felt like I was drowning and she pulled me from the water. Debbi is compassionate and very witty as well. I am thrilled to have her as my personal astrologer and consider her my friend. |

Ms. Kempton Smith's witty notebook is more than just entertainment - it is full of insights that would not be easily revealed by most other astrology books. Stargazer's Notebook presents its reader with practical, easy-to-use knowledge that rings true time and again. When read aloud at parties, eyebrows are arched and vigorous nods are provoked at the truisms that apply to each individual and their charts. At last, a guideline that manages to explain some of the more mysterious character traits within ourselves and others in our lives - be they family, friends or celebrity (the celeb charts contained within are especially fascinating). Both a fun read as well as a reference. |

This book's been impossible to find for years. I wish they'd reprint it normally and have it at a better price with better shipping time, but at least it's available again. I first bought it in 1986 and used it so much, it fell apart - I ended up buying it 4 or 5 times just for myself, and at least as many as a present for friends. It's the single best all-round astrology book out there: no hocus-pocus, just wonderfully in-depth explorations of people that also happen to be really entertainingly written - lots of fun to read. If you want to learn real (i.e., not just sun-sign) astrology, or expand knowlege you already have, this is the book you need. |
