Harry Potter is a great book for kids of all ages. In this story, Harry Potter, a 12-year-oldwozard, is in his second year at school. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a great place to keep things safe, but not safe enough to keep Harry safe this year. During his summer holidays, Harry was visited by a strange elf-like creature who told him that he should not go back to Hogwarts this year. Harry does not trust the elf, and he goes back to his school. This is when Harry realizes that the elf was right. The Chamber of Secrets is opened, and Muggle-borns everywhere are getting attacked. It is up to young Harry to save the school when half of the school believes that he is the one attacking everyone. Read the story to find out what happens next. I liked a lot of things from this book. The author does a great job of depicting what the basilisk looks like. She writes, "...enormous serpent, bright, poisonous green, thick as an oak trunk..." Every time that I read this passage, I always get really scared. I can picture the basilisk clearly in my mind. The author does a great job of describing in every book of hers that I have ever read. I think that is why everyone likes her books so much. I didn't really like one of the parts from the story. The part that I didn't like is the whole plot. The story sometimes got a little confusing at some times. I also didn't like the fact that Ginny had to be taken into the Chamber of Secrets. This is because Harry Potter acted all noble and went into the Chamber himself. Harry could have died in there, and then there would not have been more to the series. My favorite part in the book was when Professor Lockhart took all the bones out of Harry's arm after the match with the rogue Bludger. I really like this part because I think it is really funny. If someone had taken all the bones out of my arm, I would probably just sit there and laugh it off. Harry and his fans/followers, instead, got really mad about it all. That was my favorite part in the whole a story. I really like the book Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

The book Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling is a book put together with the use of the literary device of irony. It is said that Rowling puts together an excellent book thorough the use of the device of irony. Much of the book would have to be written differently if irony was not included. For instance throughout the book students at Hogwarts are petrified due to the sight of the "monster", later known as the basilisk, hidden in the chamber of secrets. Almost every time this takes place Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Harry Potter are found at the scene first. Also it just happened to work out that the Defense against the Dark Arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart is a fake and can't perform magic. Therefore Ron and Harry have to step up and take the lead in finding Ginny Weasley, Ron's younger sister who was captured by Tom Riddle. Although irony made it possible for every thing to work in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, it is said that there is too much. Everything in the book keeps happening because Harry, Ron, and Hermione happen to be there. Then it is argued as mentioned before the book would not have been able to flow with out the literary device. So all in all Rowling's book was made possible because of irony.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets is definitely fully rated five stars. It became one of my favorite books. The first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, let you hanging at the end and it made you want to read the next book. And that's what I just did. This second book finished the ending to the first and I thought was a lot better than the first. This book is so interesting and well written that I found myself reading this book in two days. I am not the type who likes to read a lot, but this book was so excellent and well written that I saw the story being played in my head like a movie. It was in impossible to put it down. I have to say that my favorite part of the book was the climax where Harry enters the Chamber of Secrets. He fights enormous serpent snake, which they call the Basilisk that was under control of a dark wizard. Could it be possible for a young boy to kill and survive this horrible creature? I don't want to spoil the ending to some of the people who haven't read it yet. If you're looking for a book that is thrilling and suspenseful, then I highly recommend picking it up and reading this wonderful novel.

This story is much easier to read compared to the first Harry Potter, as readers are now familiar with Rowling's built-from-scratch fantasy. Further, while she has made the story significantly more complex than the first novel by introducing the Chamber of Secrets and the histories of various characters, the clarity of her writing keep the reader on track throughout the story. Rowling even manages to include a number of bizarre incidents, assuming that anything more than witches and wizards would be bizarre. Imagine, for example, asking a ghost how they died. Rowling keeps her fantasy fresh in this second story with much promise for the following novels. For those who can read this story as a fantasy, they will find the story creative and interesting. I recommend this book for everyone from age 8 to adult, and even some younger children may be able to handle the story.

I am really impressed with this series. Usually I read "Grown up" fantasy books like Jordan, goodkind and GRR Martin - but Harry Potter has certainly been an appreciated diversion. It’s been so long sine I was a child and believed in magic but J.K. Rowlings brings me back to that more innocent time. I am not going to review the plot - there are over 3000 reviews for that - I just wanted to Thank Mrs. Rowlings for doing something that should have been done a long time ago. It may sound kind of strange - but I almost feel like I have attended Hogwarts. As I read these books I was in a new city away from my friends and going to law school. I know it’s not quite the same... but anyone who has ever studied law knows that there is a lot of strange words and scary professors galore. I swear my administrative law professor is the spitting image of professor umbridge, and my contracts proof is Snape re-incarnated... Maybe its just hope great of storyteller Rowlings is that makes me believe...Thankfully, soon I will be done law school, but sadly, someday, this series will come to an end. I highly suggest reading it - the first book is almost a children’s book, but they grow darker as time goes on. [not unlike real life]Anyone who reads fantasy and does not read these books is a disgrace to the genre. I place this series with Tolkien, Dragonlance, and the Song of Ice and Fire.

Very good from beginning to end! J.K. Rowling's writing is exceptionally well and has kept her readers intrigued all the way through with no disappointment whatsoever. Very well written and a great read for those wanting good current literature for all ages.

This is number 2 in the Harry Potter series. It is Harry's second year at Hogwarts. The author does a good job of refreshing the reader on the essentials of the storyline from the first book, without belaboring them. Harry has his usual share of troubles with the Dursleys and can't wait to get back to school. However, someone or some thing is turning students into stone. To protect the students, the teachers enforce strict curfews and cancel Quidditch games. They may even have to end school early so that students can be sent home for their own safety. But Harry dreads being sent back to the Dursleys and that makes him more determined than ever to find out who has opened the Chamber of Secrets, unleashing the menace that is petrifying students. The sense of danger heats up even more when one of Harry's friends is attacked.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in the well-loved "Harry Potter" series. Even though I've watched all of the films that have been released up to this point, this is only the second book that I've read. I have to admit that this tale is wonderful, but compared to the first book, it isn't quite as good. Don't get me wrong, this is a great read compared to many other novels out there, but it ended a little bit too abruptly for my tastes. All of the characters from the first book return, excepting the defense against the Dark Arts teacher, who's been replaced by the glory hound Lockhart. Harry still has to deal with those wretched Dursleys, and he believes that his friends have forgotten about him. However, he happens to have a strange little visitor one night, Dobby, who warns him to not return to Hogwart's for his second year of Wizarding School. Of course, Harry does manage to make it back to Hogwart's albeit not aboard the Hogwart's Express. He has to take a detour in order to get there. This is just the first in a number of stumbling blocks and dead-ends that Harry and his friends run into. Not to mention the fact that someone or something is "petrifying" students at the school. Harry is also hearing voices through the walls of the school. Plus, he has to deal with Draco Malfoy and his cronies. With Hagrid, Hermione, Ron, and Dumbledore, among others, on his side, Harry attempts to find out who or what is committing the multiple crimes at the school and clear his own name. It's a wonderful little mystery reader and I plan to pick up the third book as soon as I can. Highly recommended.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a fascinating book. It was hard to put it down when it was time to stop reading. In Harry's second year at Hogwarts he discovers more about himself and his enemies, has many more adventures, makes new friends, and gets in more trouble. This book from page one was great. It had a very good starting, which lasted throughout the book. Quidditch matches in this book were fantastic. The fast pace game was an added bonus to the plot and story line of this book. J.K. Rowling has done it again. It is better than the first. In the first they had to set everything up, which took a lot of reading time, and then finally go to Hogwarts. In this Second one they got to Hogwarts earlier in the book, so there was a lot of good things from Hogwarts. This book is intended for everyone who has read the first. In the first it explains a lot about Harry and the school. Even if you haven’t read the first, it explains a little of it at the first of the book.

The first Harry Potter adventure was definitely a breath of fresh air, but if it stood alone it wouldn't have the lasting impact that it has today. The close of the story was definitely open-ended and left you with the impression that there should be more. The Chamber of Secrets picks up where the first left off and really pushes it into high gear. The story begins where Harry gets a mysterious warning not to return to Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft. Harry of course ignores this and starts into his second year of schooling. Everything you can imagine starts to go wrong and Harry begins to realize the validity of the warning. On Halloween night, a message written in blood is found on a wall in Hogwarts, claiming that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened. This starts yet another mystery for Harry and his friends, while they attempt to further their studies of wizardry. Eventually they come to realize that an ancient terror is stalking the hallways of the school.

It's been a long time since I've cared this much for fictional characters. The old favorites are back: the logical Hermione, the poor but proud Ron Weasley, the slimy professor Snape, and of course the humble hero, Harry. Plenty of new exciting personalities and places are also added to the mix. J.K. Rowling kept what was right about the first and vastly improved on it.
