This is the first book my son would bring to me for repeated readings (starting at about 9 months). The illustrations are stunning, and the vocabulary is perfect for infants/toddlers. I give this book to everyone with children! |

This was my favorite book as a child - my parents still know most of it by heart from reading it so many times! Now, my two year old son loves it too. We had to buy a new copy because mine was so tattered and old. He just loved the colors and the story. He especially loves that the bunny goes to sleep at the end with a blankie - my son loves his blankie. This book is a must have for little ones! |

I purchased this book for my brand new baby nephew. This year will be his first Easter. We had been collecting children's books for him before he was born, but I have recently been looking for books that my brother and I enjoyed from childhood. Luckily this book I Am a Bunny is still in print. The illustrations are vivid and precious. We come from a family of artists and art lovers so we always want the illustrations for the children's books to be wonderful. The pictures in this book bring up strong, warm memories for me and I can't wait to share this book with my nephew. |

This is one of those books that I will save for my grandchildren. All three of my children love this book! My copy has chewed corners, and all kinds of wear-marks, which makes it an even more treasured keepsake. I purchase it now as a gift for friends who have small children. I highly recommend this one! |

I actually smile when my sons pull this book out of the bin to read. This book is wonderful. My sons ask for it to be read again and again. We borrowed it from the library, and I hated to give it back, so I bought it. Simple, yet detailed and elegant illustrations ~ not too busy, bright or flashy. The pictures inside are similar in detail to the cover. Not a word intensive story, but the vocabulary my sons have gained from it is rich. We point out details in the illustrations. The butterflies are a myraid of colors and we talk about them. The page with the squirrel and the raccoons getting ready for fall is my favorite one. I think I can see every hair on the squirrel's tail. Get this book. What a great addition to your library or the start of one for new parents. |

I Am a Bunny was a childhood favorite of mine and I am thrilled to see that it is still in print. This book is really something special in the world of children's literature. The illustrations are beautiful and evocative and the story, while simple, is memorable. Risom's spare language somehow manages to capture the essence of each season and its mood. The pacing is appropriate as well. You get the sense that the change of seasons is spread out over many days and months. I have an eleven month old daughter, and she loves to read I Am a Bunny with me. In fact, we use my copy, which is now almost 30 years old. The pages are sturdy enough for her to turn and she enjoys pointing at the birds and the butterflies. We have a lot of funny books and clever books, but this seems to draw her in with a change of tone. I was so inspired by this book as a child that I spent time doing all of the things Nicholas describes-watching birds and frogs, chasing butterflies. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with small children. A great Easter gift. |

I first bought this book because I loved its vintage look (note to Golden: please re-release more of these classics!). The beautiful illustrations have the same feeling as Mary Blair/Disney from the 1950s-lush, saturated colors with charming creatures inhabiting a happy world. Sadly, you don't see this type of art in a lot of kids' books these days. But the Real Reason you should buy it is how much kids love it... my 14.5-month old daughter is completely addicted to this book. She insists we read it again and again, loves pointing out Nicholas on every page and even tries to sniff the springtime flowers. |

With beautiful illustrations and a simple story, I am a Bunny is a perfect book to share with your youngster. Although even the smallest child will be captivated by the colorful work of Richard Scarry, this book isn't just for babies. Every illustration is filled with details - dozens of different butterflies to name, animals to count, and flowers to "smell" - that bring nature to life for your child. It's no wonder that this book has been around for so many years! |

My little boy is 16 months and I bought this book more or less for myself as the bunny looks so cute and I am a Richard Scarry fan. Now I understand why all the online reviews named it as a classic, the illustrations are simply superb and the storyline is simple yet meaningful covering the 4 seasons and nature. It's just a lovely book. The size is different (long shape) but it's very unique and I'm a big fan of board books so there's also a plus there. I would definitely recommend this book to any toddler. My little boy was captivated immediately which is pretty unusual as there was no flap, no pop-up and no tiger. |

Discover the four seasons with Nicholas the bunny, as he travels from spring to winter in this enchanting board book. Nicholas says, "In the spring, I chase the butterflies, and the butterflies chase me." The reader sees an adorable little bunny dressed in red overalls, leaping into the air, trying to catch one of the two-dozen beautifully rendered butterflies. The story continues with spring, then summer, and ends in winter. Nicholas lives in a hollow tree, and when winter arrives, the reader sees him curled up snug in his bunny bed dreaming about the spring to come. This endearing book captivates babies with the outstanding images, and simple text, while teaching the four seasons to older children. Written in 1963, I am a Bunny is a classic and one that should be included in every child's library. One-year and up. |
