MSL Pointer Review:
Abuse, suicide and violence, it's better to face these tough stuff than hiding them in dark, much better to go to a good guide as this book. |

My mom bought this book for my sister, and me. I took more of a liking to it. The book covers a variety of topics... from losing a family member... to standing up for yourself in a tough situation. The stories bring out so many emotions in you. You'll either end up laughing, crying, smiling. Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul is a great page-turned, and it's hard to put the book down. In each story you get wrapped up in the situation, and it's hard to keep your mind off of it. You get a sense of what the writer was feeling during their situation. This book is definitely moving and emotional. I also recommend Open Your Mind, Open Your Life: A Little Book of Wisdom by Taro Gold. Excellent! |

I have read two of the other Chicken Soup books and enjoyed them very much. I have a teenager and when I saw this book I thought it would be good since we are all going through "tough times" right now. I sat down when I got home and decided to read a few of the stories and found mysled unable to stop. I cried for the girl who was made fun of and I cried for the students who expereinced such horror. But mostly I cried because I didn't have such a book to read when I was a teenager. I honestly beleive that if I had I would be a different person today. Each and every one of us needs this inspiration. Each one of us needs to remember our hearts and that we are all in this together. This book is a great tool for remembering.I suggest parents read it as well as their teens. I highly recommend it.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul on Tough Stuff was a book I feel all teenagers and for that matter adults should read. It really touched me. At times I cried, and at times I laughed. This book really touched home. It reminded me that no matter how bad my day was, there is someone that has gone through the same thing and maybe worse things that same day. I have all the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul books and this is my favorite.
I hope others can recieve that same joy I recieved from it. This book like the others will serve as a devotional for me. Each story has some meaning or lesson that will touch home.

I absolutly love this book. Fianlly a book that foucus's on issues like suidcide and eating dissorder, mixed in with a dash of death and I pinch of friend/relationship. Its the perfect combination for the recipe of teenager. It was a great self help book and a great read all at the same time. I have to say that all the Chicken Soup for the Teen Soul books are great. I own them all but this one has really touched home and helped me to connect with the authors. I definetly recommend this book to anyone who is interested especially teens. I think that this book, being as it focus's more on the rougher aspects of being a teen, will help alot more teens. Just read the first story... bet you can't put it down.

The book I'm about to rate is Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. I rate this book 5 stars. The reason why I rate it like that is because it's a very good book. It talks about teenagers going through hard times. If you read this book you can probably relate to it. The book is mostly about hard times in life that people go through. There are some stories that talk about loved ones dying and trying to get over the death. There are some love stories about teenagers and their problems with love. Some stories are heartbreaking and can make you cry. You know how some teens in school do drugs and they end up thinking they are smart enough to do it, it talks about it in the book. Some teens have parent abuse going on in their life and end up killing themselves cause of it.
This book is also base on the fact that some teens can't defend themselves on any type of abuse. This is a book that helped past teens that had the same situation. Now today's teens need the help of this book to get them throuhout their lives. Some teens have problems with alcohol. And the other half of the teens have problems with their own best friends. On the back of this book they give you phone numbers and address to get the help they deserve.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul: On Tough Stuff is an excellent book. It has topics such as abuse, eating disorders, alcohol and drug abuse, growing up, and death. This book teaches you how to handle problems and where you can call for help.
Chicken Soup helps you handle the tough stuff going on throughout your teenage years. You will learn to appriciate who you are, that your healthy, and that no one abuses you. You will truly never want to put it down.
I would recommend this book to anyone really, but mostly to teenagers. It will help them learn not to sweat the small stuff and move on. I know it definitely helped me be thankful for all that I have. But mostly that i have an awesome family who never would even think about abusing me. I think this book will be a great teacher to anyone who will read the stories about what real teens go through. I hope you will read Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul: On Tough Stuff.

I myself am in my teen years and this book goes to show to me and my peers that life isn't as bad for you as it is for others. I remember how my friends would complain about their lives and how bad life was for them until I showed them this book!
It's extremely hard to read at times because some of the stories are so sad and you need a moment to recover from one story before reading the next. But it's great because it shows other teens that their lives aren't as bad as others are and that we need to stop complaining all the time because we have no idea just how lucky we really are.
As usual, stories are written by other teens and as I said in another review, it's a lot better than having someone lecture to you all the time. I certainly would hate to here my mom or dad lecture to me about this sort of thing. It's certainly not a topic that you'll pick up right away and as I said, before moving on to the next story you may need to think for a moment.
It's a great book to pick up especially if you're going through a moment yourself. You'll be surprised at just what others have to endure and you'll finally realize just how lucky you really are to have what you have.

This was my favorite book. Everywhere I went, it went. Until one day I lost it! It is so horrible because I loved that book. It made me a better person as all the other chicken soup books do. So I still haven't found it, and am very upset. I never wanted to put it down! I would read about 4 stories every night before bed. And then another chapter during the day. I had another book I was reading at the same time but I automatically lost all interest in it when I started reading this book. I just wish I had it with me still. But hopefully I'll get it back or a new one.

When I read this book, I was going through a lot of bad stuff. I had just lost my second closest friend to Luekemia, and my mother and another friend were unaccounted for in two of the areas hit in the Sept. 11 attacks. I was very depressed and thought maybe seeing how bad other people lives were would make my problems seem silly. The book didn't do that, but it allowed me to finally cry and feel better afterwards. I was able to grieve for my best friend, and have faith that those lost would be found. So thanks, you really have the power to touch other people's lives and make them better.

I recently attempted suicide...the poems in this book on clinical depression and suicide made me realize I was not alone...When I read this book I felt like other people understood and knew how I was feeling because they were going through the same thing. I was so scared, but I got help..and I know now that its not my fault or anyone elses that I feel this way I have a chemical deficiency and with anti-depressants I can be just like everyone else...just remember- Everyone has their own individual problems and although yours seem to be worse- others are thinking the same thing...you are not alone...
