There's a great deal more to the mating dance than sex, and a great deal more to developing a romantic life-time relationship than being good in bed. One of the best ways for a woman to begin is with a careful reading of Men Are Like Fish. |

As Valentine's Day nears, some of us are smiling with passionate anticipation with visions of red hearts dancing in our heads, while the rest of us are grimacing at the thought of yet another scenario playing Captain Ahab on the open seas, trying to nab the ever elusive Moby Love.
Steve Nakamoto, a former communications instructor for Dale Carnegie & Associates and a personal development trainer for motivational expert Anthony Robbins, tells us how to get in the path of Cupid's arrow in his new book, Men Are Like Fish. Written especially for women, the 192-page book includes anecdotes, illustrations, quotes and a slew of clever, helpful metaphors on reeling in true love. It also offers insight on maintaining a healthy attitude during your quest. |

There are a lot of fish in the sea, or so the old saying goes. But how can single women make a good catch? Orange County author Steve Nakamoto, a professional tour director and former personal development trainer, uses fishing metaphors to offer entertaining and useful advice. Chapter titles, for example, include "The Bait: Make your attraction more powerful," "The Hook: Use only the most secure devices," "The Nibbles: Gauge your early responses wisely," and "Catch & Release: Don't kill the romance." Interspersed with his observations are relevant cartoons and quotes about life and love from various sources. |

Men Are Like Fish by Steve Nakamoto shows women how to catch 'em and reel 'em in. This book teaches women a simple, wise and fun way to catch the romantic whopper....from a fish's perspective. If you tap into his website you can take "The Big Fish Test" or "The Bait Self-Quiz." You can also check out "The 7 Habits of Highly Fishy Men," "The Top Ten List (reasons why women don't land the man of their dreams)," and "Uncanny Advice for Fish (Men). |

Being newly single after 26 years of marriage I realized I had tons of skill at repelling men's advances... my "bait" seems just fine... but realized I had few skills to discern a worthwhile prospect or let him know I was interested. Steve's entertaining and caring style of writing put me at ease from the start. The constant quotes took me aback at first, but as the chapters turned into step by step methods or lists of observations, having those quotes allowed me to let the advice sink in and be taken to heart. Though I plan to spend a couple of years date free, get to know my wants and needs before bending my desires to suit a loved one, I would like to invite men into my circle of close friends. Steve's advice on "casting" (and so many other chapters!) will easily apply to my modest project as well. It's like I thought when I decided to look for a book to prepare myself for dating: There's a whole bunch of skills to hone when making a first impression, and surprisingly, once you recognize them and put them all together, it's fairly simple. I plan to keep Men Are Like Fish handy, refresh myself from time to time. Any chapter is a concise, to the point refresher course and a heartwarming enjoyment to boot. |

I'm a recently divorced 50-something-year-old woman. I only vaguely remember what dating is all about/like, and felt I needed a 'brush-up course' before tackling the now (increasingly frightening) dating world. I chose Men Are Like Fish because it was a cute title, and I was intrigued by the fact that it is written from a MAN's perspective. Being manipulative, coy, or false in any way does not figure in to Mr. Nakamura's advice. This refreshingly honest book advises leading with your brain, but following with your heart - advice that I have given my daughter - but had forgotten for myself. I'm sending this book to my daughter ASAP, as it's really about being happy and sharing that appropriately and safely with interesting men. |

I must say I was leery about reading yet another "how to" book about dating but after strong encouragement from others who have read the book, I purchased it and must admit I was very pleased and refer back to it quite a bit. I've just recently started dating again after a long hiatus, but as this book states, I was taking care and healing self so I can attract the kind of man for me. He provides pointers and tips and believes me they actually work. This particular time in my life I have a very healthy and fun outlook towards dating. I would strongly recommend this book. |
