I'm no leadership expert, but Tony, the author's mentor is.
This book is small enough where you can read a chapter a night, and get to the core of leadership teachings. By no means should this be an expert's or a professional's only reference guide. Instead, it should be the very basis that leadership revolves around: responsibility.
Consisting of 8, 10-page Chapters and an epilogue, you'd really do yourself a treat to listen in on the discussions between the two. The author goes through a transformation of himself and his professional-life with the simple lessons Tony outlines. They include but are not limited to: having plans for situations, so you don't act on raw emotion; taking responsibility for your own time and lackthereof and therefore are able to take measure to fix it; getting to the roots of what a business is really about.
This book didn't change my world, it added to it. I am better for reading it. But I have no desire to pick up another book on leadership any time soon. Instead, I can move on with my other areas of interest. Highly recommended. |

As simply written as this book is, it is pack full of good advise. I highly recommend this book for first time managers as well as those that have been managers for a long time. I have been in the management field for 20 years and after reading this, made me realize that you are never too old to learn and that even seasoned managers need to be reminded of how to be a great manager. |
