This book is great. I didn't know there were so many great true stories out there, but the authors of "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III" have found many more inspirational stories. This book was written to help teens deal with the issues that they face everyday, from first love to heartache, from best friends to enemies. This book will help guide you through the tough times and add happiness to the great times. The best part of this book is that the stories are written by teens for teens. There is something for everyone in it. The variety in this book is great. From the cartoons to the poems, you will never get bored of reading it. I could barely put it down. I learned a lot of great lessons while reading it. Another great point of this book is that you can go back and read different sections over again, depending on your mood. For example if you are depressed and want to read a story to brighten your day you can read one out of the "The Power of Love" chapter. I strongly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read.

I am an avid follower of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series and after reading Teen 3 I have to admit I am increadibly impressed by the calibur in which this book was written. Teenagers obviously have alot to say, and in this book they say it with such heart, such intelligence and such gentle wisdom. I read the entire book in one sitting, I couldn't put it down and in that I realized something, that with all the books out there for teenagers, as a teen, I would much rather read stories written by my peers. The first two books of the series were increadible, but there is something to be said for that fact that this was the first to make me cry, laugh, and re-read the next day.

I thought this was a really good book. I'm thirteen now , but I read a Chicken Soup For the soul book for the first time when I was twelve. I have Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul 2 and 3. And my younger brother recently got Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul. Some of the stories I read didn't apply to me, but I still enjoyed reading them, and seeing how the different people overcame different situations. I was especially touched by one story entitled " Tell Me Why You cry" in Chicken Soup for the teenage Soul two. But I won't say what is was about. I'll let you find out for yourself. Because every teenage kid, or twelve and eleven year-olds should read these books. Because whether they make an impact on your life or not, they will show you that you can overcome anything if you try.

I really enjoy Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul books, I was really excited for the 3rd one. And while this book was touching, uplifiting, and enlightening, It didn't live up to the first few Teenage Soul Books. I didn't think it was as good as the first or second books. Most of the issues covered in it's stories weren't as moving...and a lot of the stories lacked clear endings or had dissapointing, anticlimatic endings. With the first and second books, I felt uplifted, touched, and moved after finishing a story...but I didn't get that feeling as much with this book. And all the "Tough Stuff" stories (at least most of them) were about serious illnesses or deaths of friends or family....none were about depressed or disturbed teens or dealt with anyting that a lot of teens deal with on a day to day basis. I just felt the book couldv'e covered more subject area. And I wish there had been more poems...I love poems. While I'm enjoying this book and reading the stories, I'm not as crazy about it as I was about the first couple of Teenage Soul Books. I don't regret buying this book...it's awesome. Yet it could be better. But anyway,I give it 4 stars. And I do recommend this book to teens everywhere.Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul 3 indeed does hold more stories of life, love and learning. I got this book for my birthday four months ago, and I have read a story almost every night. The stories in these books are written by teens, for teens. Stories about everything from bilingual relationships to suicide attempts. I have also read Teen 1 &2 as well as Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul letters. Letters from readers tell about how hearing that they were not alone saved some people from suicide, salvaged relationships and healed those whose hearts were broken. Obviously, the stories in these books are quite powerful, and though sad, I would put this on a must-have list for teens of all shapes and sizes.

Recently, I saw this book at Wal-Mart and knew I had to buy it. I've been reading a few stories a day and sadly finished it yesterday. It has become one of my favorite books. There are too many good things to name about it and the other two books! There's a lot of variety in this latest installment, including more poems and cartoons as well as short stories. I enjoyed almost every contribution! A few great stories are "Never Been Dissed", "Dear Child", "A Gift of Time", "Ghost Mother", and "Accentuating Differences". The way teens work out their problems(especially family tension)is interesting and helpful. Now I know I'm not alone and have some ideas on how to deal with difficult situations. The mother stories reminded me to appreciate my own mom more. No people we love are perfect, but they all impact us, even if they die. The part I didn't like was that most of the love stories are sad and depressing.

Another great entry in the Chicken Soup series. Your teen will find plenty of meat in this soup to help guide him or her through these challenging years. Some of the stories can be a real inspiration. There isn't a lot of preaching that teens will resist, but interesting, informative stories by their peers as well as their "elders." A wide range of topics are covered, all of interest and value for teens. Topics range from friends, parent problems, and love, to daily pressures, dealing with relatives, and everyday activities. They're sure to learn from the experiences of others. The girls will learn from what the guys are really thinking. The book is very up-to-date, providing teens with what they need to know in their current culture. Both guys and girls are sure to benefit, while they enjoy reading. There is definitely a lot of "stuff" in these 400 pages ! A must read, especially as vacation time approaches.

I love the teenage Chicken Soup books. Each one was impossible to put down. I love the new one even more. It seems like the authors are really getting closer to the things teenagers care about. Don't get me wrong, the other books are fantastic, it is just that this one felt more "teenage" to me than any of the others. I am not going to be a teen for much longer and these books make me realize that the teen years are very specail. I am going to be sure to enjoy what is left of my teenage years. There were too many stories that were my favorites to list them all, but there is a secti0on on columbine that made me cry and the relationship chapter is incredible, especially the Dear Boy letter and the story Kissing The bully. There were so many goosd ones, you just have to read it and see for yourself. I am so thankful for these books.

I have to start out by stating one thing... I loved this book. It was so great. It was a book about many things. Love , friendship, parents, dating, trust, and many more. This book was written by many people including some famous people, like jennifer love hewitt which made it fun. It was set up in special catagories like friendship, love etc. All the stories were cram packed with a little good writting and a whole lot of heart. just to mention a couple one of my favorites was called the Bible. It ws about a guy who was graduating and he wanted a car for grad present really badly. He went out shopping with his dad and found the perfect one. Well when it came time for his dad to give him his present he gave his son a wrapped Bible. The son got so mad that he threw it down and stormed out of the house. He never saw his dad again until his dad died and he had to go through all of his positions. In doing this he stumbled upon the old dustly Bible that was intended to become his gift. For the first time he opened it and found a check inside made out to the exact amount of the car he and his father had dicovered. There are many stories in this book that are filled with laughter and some with tears. I loved it so much and was more that happy to read it. It might even be a book I could sit down Some day and read again. I would recomend this book to all of my friends and anyone out there who is looking for a fun and interesting book to read.

I have to say, I was the last to find out this book was out. But I am also happy to say ,it was well worth the wait. These books seem to grow up with me. It might be the way I am understanding the stories and because I am older the stories seem deeper but whatever it is this was a collection of very beautiful and thoughtful stories. I found myself thinking about them longer and that good feeling that you get when you read a Chicken Soup story was lasting longer. I walked around all day just feeling so incredible and happy. I really can't explain it. These books and this one especially succeed in making me feel really good about my life. Suddenly all the hard times, all the heartaches turn into this rich experience and you feel that you are the lucky one for having lived such a rich life. I used to avoid getting into relationships for example because i might get hurt. Now I see I might learn something. My favorite story was ...well I had a few...I loved Kissing the Bully, i loved all the Columbine stuff...incredible...I loved the well I cant say because I dont want to give away the ending. Anyway, I loved this book and I hope you do too. |
