This edition of Chicken Soup is not the first. There are many others, including one for pet lovers! This book will really make you want to get up and do something.
From bike crashes, to growing up, to inspirational stories; this book has it all. Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul Three will bring a tear to your eye and put a smile on your face. It was organized by three adults. Kimberly Kirberger, Mark Hansen, and Jack Canfield. But the book itself was written purely by teens.
The writers of "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III" have inspired these people to write their stories, and send them in, so teens all over the world can share their laughter and tears. This book helps teens and young adults realize that they're not the only one in their position and that there are millions of people just like them all over the world, experiencing heartaches, hate, and love. Even though you never really get over your first crush, you learn what it's like to love and what pain is. It helps you realize that you can be all you can be, without worrying about what other people think, and it lets you know that there are many other people out there in your shoes. "I know a little about who I am, and who I can be, regardless of what my friends think or say," says Shad Powers, a teen that submitted his story into "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul".
The friendship section talks about the good times and bad between friends. No matter how bad the struggle we face our friends and families with always be there for us. In the section about families, stories were told about what it's like to have someone always there for you.
Stories of how love will always prevail through the worst of times are shared in the power of love chapter. Lessons are the hardest thing to learn in life, as one girl learns that just because her mom has a thick foreign accent, doesn't mean that she's going to be judged by it. Another lesson learned in the lessons section was that you should always tell somebody you love them before it's too late. Tough Stuff happens in life, in this chapter stories are told about the tragedy of Columbine and how to cope with the death of a love one.
Obstacles can be overcome. Even through cancer and anorexia, those you never give up will survive. Self-Discovery talks about how through events and people you will and do discover your true self. The chapter on growing up talks about how we can all face our fears and "grow up."
This book will help you cope with the bitterness or cruelty of the world, while adding understanding into your life.

From the publisher
The third volume in the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series promises more love, support and inspiration for the series' loyal teen readers. More and more, life is a struggle for teens. Not just dealing with the tragedies that seem to plague them so often, but also handling the daily pressures that pervade their lives. This book, like the first two volumes in the series, will help them, and will serve as their guide and constant companion. The original Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, a New York Times bestseller, has sold over 4.5 million copies. Its successor, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul II, a #1 New York Times bestseller, has already sold over 2.2 million copies. The third volume in this blockbuster series promises to be every bit as successful as the first two, as teen readers continue to cherish and be inspired by this series. Chapters focus on love, friendship, family, tough stuff, growing up, kindness, learning lessons and making a difference. In keeping with the themes and content of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series, teens will also find support, encouragement and understanding from their peers, as well as from caring and compassionate adults. This book is a must-read for all teens-a book they will read and reread, sharing their favorite stories with one another over and over again. It is also the perfect gift for all adults to give to the teens in their lives.

This book is great. I didn't know there were so many great true stories out there, but the authors of "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III" have found many more inspirational stories. This book was written to help teens deal with the issues that they face everyday, from first love to heartache, from best friends to enemies. This book will help guide you through the tough times and add happiness to the great times. The best part of this book is that the stories are written by teens for teens. There is something for everyone in it. The variety in this book is great. From the cartoons to the poems, you will never get bored of reading it. I could barely put it down. I learned a lot of great lessons while reading it. Another great point of this book is that you can go back and read different sections over again, depending on your mood. For example if you are depressed and want to read a story to brighten your day you can read one out of the "The Power of Love" chapter. I strongly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read.

I am an avid follower of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series and after reading Teen 3 I have to admit I am increadibly impressed by the calibur in which this book was written. Teenagers obviously have alot to say, and in this book they say it with such heart, such intelligence and such gentle wisdom. I read the entire book in one sitting, I couldn't put it down and in that I realized something, that with all the books out there for teenagers, as a teen, I would much rather read stories written by my peers. The first two books of the series were increadible, but there is something to be said for that fact that this was the first to make me cry, laugh, and re-read the next day.

I thought this was a really good book. I'm thirteen now , but I read a Chicken Soup For the soul book for the first time when I was twelve. I have Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul 2 and 3. And my younger brother recently got Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul. Some of the stories I read didn't apply to me, but I still enjoyed reading them, and seeing how the different people overcame different situations. I was especially touched by one story entitled " Tell Me Why You cry" in Chicken Soup for the teenage Soul two. But I won't say what is was about. I'll let you find out for yourself. Because every teenage kid, or twelve and eleven year-olds should read these books. Because whether they make an impact on your life or not, they will show you that you can overcome anything if you try.

I really enjoy Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul books, I was really excited for the 3rd one. And while this book was touching, uplifiting, and enlightening, It didn't live up to the first few Teenage Soul Books. I didn't think it was as good as the first or second books. Most of the issues covered in it's stories weren't as moving...and a lot of the stories lacked clear endings or had dissapointing, anticlimatic endings. With the first and second books, I felt uplifted, touched, and moved after finishing a story...but I didn't get that feeling as much with this book. And all the "Tough Stuff" stories (at least most of them) were about serious illnesses or deaths of friends or family....none were about depressed or disturbed teens or dealt with anyting that a lot of teens deal with on a day to day basis. I just felt the book couldv'e covered more subject area. And I wish there had been more poems...I love poems. While I'm enjoying this book and reading the stories, I'm not as crazy about it as I was about the first couple of Teenage Soul Books. I don't regret buying this book...it's awesome. Yet it could be better. But anyway,I give it 4 stars. And I do recommend this book to teens everywhere.Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
