Striking an optimum user-friendly balance between basic and more advanced content, Joint Structure and Function is the ideal text for your program's "Introduction to Kinesiology" course. It is targeted primarily for physical therapy students (but also can be used by occupational therapy and athletic training students) who are preparing for entry-level practice involved in the assessment of and intervention in human musculoskeletal function and dysfunction. Well-referenced, up-to-date research and the liberal use of figures, examples, and tables make this the most educationally comprehendible text on the market.

I am glad I purchased the updated edition. It has a lot more information and better pictures than the second edition. The case studies they present are a considerably helpful edition as they present the patients symptoms of different pathologies they are profiling, along with the structural and soft tissue components of various pathologies they are describing. |

This book is the shorter-black-and-white version of Moore's & Dailey Clinical Oriented Anatomy book. It is quite simple and the illustrations are not Dali's impressions of the female anatomy but for the need-to-know-basis Physical Therapy student it is quite suffiecient.
It is excellent with its questions at the end of each chapter !

This book gives a good and detailed explanation of the the human skeletal structure. The type and function of a joint, the funtions of the ligaments arount a joint, the functions of the muscles around a joint. Not only do the authors explain how each and every joint specifically works but also how the joints work together to do a specific movement along with which muscles are involved. This is a book for anybody interested in studying the musculoskeletal system in detail. |
