The memory techniques taught in this book are tantamount to taking crib notes into an exam. They are, in fact, easier than writing things down. That goes for numbers, dates, events, lists and on and on.
You WILL amaze yourself. You WILL be able to quickly look through a deck of playing cards and immediately name the missing cards, you WILL be able to remember large numbers after hearing or reading them once, you WILL be able to remember lists of large numbers. You WILL be able to recall every scene in a movie or series of events in real life in precise chronological order.
The great thing about this book is that it blows you away with your own abilities. It's a 'self-help' book in the truest sense. You WILL feel better about yourself.
(From quoting John Lawler, USA)

While we were working on the covers of the repackaged mass market edition, I was intrigued to see that one of the authors was an ex-New York Knick from one of the great championship teams of my youth. I read Jerry Lucas's introduction with some curiosity and was hooked immediately. I, too, had spent a great deal of my childhood inventing alphabetical and numerical games. (As a result, I can still recite the phone numbers of a dozen or so elementary-school friends from thirty years ago!) I realized that I still used some of these tricks, but that there were even more ways I could use letters, numbers, and symbols to retain information. The techniques are interesting and ultimately fun. Oh, and let's not forget helpful.

This is a great book. I found out about it by reading Little Lemon which is a book with a puppet teaching memory strategies for K-3. That book helped me and him and The Memory Book helps me in so many ways including ways to help him. Of course some of these strategies aren't supposed to be for small children. |

I can personally attest to the techniques in this book.I am a sports announcer part-time,and it is necessary for me to memorize entire rosters and player statistics.Using Harry's Peg system,I am able to memorize two football teams with 90 players each week. You'll also find yourself memorizing decks of cards, and even the amazing perpetual calender stunt!Learn this stuff and you will amaze your friends-but more importantly you'll get better grades, more promotions, make warmer friendships, and impress people. You can't miss! |
