For Andrea R. Nierenberg, author of Nonstop Networking: How to Improve Your Life, Luck and Career, there are seven traits of great networkers: they appear confident and are not afraid to ask for what they need, they appreciate those who help them, they nurture relationships, are tenacious in going around obstacles, are excellent listeners, rebound from rejection and are friendly.
  • Ann Kadet (Smart Money) (MSL quote), USA   <2006-12-28 00:00>

In her new book, Non-Stop Networking: How to Improve Your Life, Luck and Career, she discusses the behaviors that do more harm than good and explains the right way to cultivate contacts.
  • Fresno Bee San Antonio Express-News (MSL quote), USA   <2006-12-28 00:00>

In her most recent book, Non-Stop Networking: How to Improve Your Life, Luck and Career, Nierenberg offers several techniques for approaching a room full of strangers and the communications skills necessary to approach them. The book makes a special effort to show those introverts how to use their personality traits to advantage.
  • Jim Pawlak (BizBooks, Chicago Tribune)(MSL quote), USA   <2006-12-28 00:00>

The book’s theme is to make networking a habit. Nierenberg demystifies the networking process for those who rank networking alongside public speaking as their top fears. For experienced networkers, the book serves as a reminder of what they must continue to do to make things happen.

Maybe you can’t judge a book by its cover, but its title can be telling. I was attracted to Nonstop Networking's subtitle, How to improve your life, luck, and career. I read Andrea R. Nierenberg’s book in less than two hours, and her networking methods inspired me to try harder to meet more people. Nonstop Networking is now in my reference library… Andrea, a business improvement consultant, offers many good suggestions about how to organize data garnered from contacts you make. She notes what it is important to know about a person - birthdays, honors they have received, important events in their lives, news you read about them on the internet or in print media. She even tells you how to fit time for writing thank-you notes into a busy schedule….I recommend that you all shell out the bucks for Nonstop Networking by Andrea R. Nierenberg, and pick up a copy for a friend who writes, too.

Very much on the plus side is the layout. There are frequent lists...one of my favorite things... Another good are the many side-bar comments included in every chapter.... If all you did was read these thoughts, you’d find the book worth... this is an upbeat and action book. I recommend you read this book. It’s full of good ideas.

Worried about what to say or how to behave in any situation? Nonstop Networking has it covered. While this book packs more information into 176 pages than most books do in 300, the information doesn't overwhelm as most of it is set forth in easy to follow steps. My favorite part of the book was the etiquette section with it's clear instructions on everything from how soon to follow up after meeting, when it's appropriate to talk business at a dinner, and even the proper use of speakerphones.

I see that other reviewers find that much of the information is common sense, and I do agree with that somewhat. However, I'm always amazed at how often common sense is not so common. I think everyone can benefit reminders. I'm giving this 5 stars as it is very comprehensive, approaches networking as building relationships (and not as "sales" as some of it's competitors), and as a result it's written in an approachable format.

As an entrepreneur turned professional speaker, I suddenly found myself out of the living room and into the business world. I found myself feeling uncomfortable and nervous at business networking functions. This simple yet profound book showed me how to build a network including conversation starters, mustering the courage to network, how to be a good listener, and how to organize my contacts. Now, I feel ready to network in every situation imaginable. Andrea shows anyone how to open their heart, connect with others and build lasting relationships in business. Nonstop Networking has transformed me, a networking wallflower into a successful social butterfly. Highly Recommended! A must read for anyone serious about growing their business!

I've found Andrea's book Nonstop Networking an invaluable tool as a management consultant. The book is a very quick read, to the point, and a great reference. Andrea also reaffirmed my belief that networking is a way of life, and not a means to an end (the norm). The book also provided numerous examples of how to go about categorizing your network of contacts, staying in touch with your network, and provided real live examples or situations that I could easily identify with. Although, I'm not at the level that Andrea's is, I can attribute much of my recent personal success in networking to her book "Nonstop Networking", and my drive to be a better person, and I regularly recommend her book to others who are either just starting out, or have lost there way.

This is good pick for those just starting out and want an easy read about how to network with people.

Personal networking is an important skill for anyone who owns a business, and there's even a chapter for introverts who are uncomfortable in social situations. Based on the principle that most people are more comfortable doing business with those they are familiar with and trust, it's a nice guide on how to build and strengthen your personal and business relationships.

Whether you're looking for a job, or have a business and want to gain more clients this type of skill is an important one to develop. Reviews for Nonstop Networking on amazon were favorable, with the only real complaint that the 170 page book is printed in double space type and a large font, so you'll notice it's considerably smaller if it were printed normal size.
