This is a nice sturdy book with colorful drawings of babies with some part of their body hidden. Each page asks, "Where is baby's ...?" Toddlers delight in lifting the flaps to find the hidden pictures. The pictures are bright and cute with eye-catching fabric and wallpaper patterns. A very attractive book, and perfect for that stage when toddlers become fascinated with their belly buttons! It can be very helpful in getting kids to name body parts, and it's fun for both the baby and the parents to read.

The Author's words:
There isn't any secret to becoming a children’s book writer or illustrator. Here's my advice: Do the work. Work hard. Keep your eyes and ears open. Look at the most beloved writers and illustrators. Learn from them. Be yourself. Know your medium. Have excellent technique. Be inspired by what you love. Work from your heart. Keep at it. Don't give up Get out there and be seen. Keep working. Keep sending stuff out. Be passionate about what you do. A little luck doesn't hurt.

Great, short story (as are all the Katz authored books). For an 18 month old probably want to supervise child to make sure pages are not ripped. My 20 month old loves the book and for the price they are great books with very cute and simple stories. Construction is board like, but not the really thick stuff. This would not be a good book to teeth on. But the construction is durable and the colors are fantastic. |

I'm online to buy a second copy of this book. The boy has worn the first one out! At fourteen months he brings the book to me and turns the pages. I don't even have to read all the words anymore. "Where are baby's eyes? Under her... What's that say?" He giggles with delight and says, "HAT!" There are all sorts of games that have spurned because of the book, including our favorite: Where is Mama's/Daddy's belly button (with tickles of course!)? This book is also great for early word recognition. Nice choice. |

One of my and the kid's favorite books. It's durable and easy to read, with beautiful colors and clear illustrations. A great book for reading simply and interacting in quality time. I can't imagine a 1-4 yr old not enjoying this book. |

Both of my children (now 18 months and 3) learned many body parts from this book, which encourages children to lift the flaps and search for babies' hands (under the bubbles!), toes, and even belly buttons. The illustrations are colorful and simple, which is very engaging for a 12-18 month old. I also love the focus on learning spatial relations (behind, under, etc.), and the great fine-motor skill practice that comes from lifting these oversized flaps. The flaps are as sturdy as most, but they will eventually separate from the book, keep your wide scotch tape handy! |
