One of the top 5 books on the practice of coaching ever written. |

"Coach Anyone.." really worked for me! Just after receiving the book and on a short plane trip, I skimmed through it and was so impressed that I marked over 100 pages for "must re-read" and vowed to read the entire book in more depth. This book has the range of impact to deepen one's knowledge and skill of Coaching whether read quickly or studied in depth. Using well done graphics and precise, effective writing, "Coach Anyone.." presents Coaching in an accurate, up to date and complete way so everyone whether they have just a few minutes or enough time to make an in depth study of Coaching or whether they are new to coaching or "winning" coaches all can all improve their Coaching skills from whatever time or level of energy they invest in the book. The reader can be touched deeply with a life changing new paradigm or pick up some new techniques he or she can use to make a difference in a real coaching situation immediately.
If you are a beginner Coach, an effective Coach already or you are a coachable person exploring how useful coaching would be in your life or in a specific situation, you will get a lot out of this book. For those not into Coaching yet drawn to the book's dynamic and lively presentation or the vividly communicated ideas, you will awaken to the real nature of Coaching and how important another supportive "set of eyes and pair of ears" can be in helping you to fulfill your commitments at all levels of life and in all situations. I highly recommend this book.

My 8-year coaching profession is built upon the array of fundamental coaching techniques and principles offered in this book. Unprecedented results are possible using the book's guidelines. Personal examples involve coaching several reengineering teams who's work increased output in operations over 100%, and reduced operating costs as well all within 6-8 months. Various other clients inside one year have produced up to 350% more with only small cost increases of no more than 25%. Many individual clients have also benifited personally from coaching by greatly expanding their professional careers, and by learning to coach others. Outcome based coaching offered by the authors yields phenomenal results that tend to transform entire organizations. In fact, after early personal successes, goals previously thought to be impossible are now routine in our goal-setting exercises. The many tools in the book are all effective. There are several key points which helped me most and more reasons why the authors of this book stand outside the pack. First, a coach must be completely genuine in his/her desire to help the client.
Throughout the book, it is easy to see the authors true passion for helping people and how this desire drives successful coaches. A second important insight for me came when I answered the question; why do I want to coach others? The answer is inherent in all my coaching. Another powerful distinction is how coaches listen. The authors illustrate how listening is possibly the most important asset of an effective coach. Gaining this distinction was indeed the most important in my coaching success. Flexibility is critical too and is developed by knowing the different roles a coach must fulfill and why. And a final point valuable to me is how the process coaches use must be designed and executed intentionally. The book offers a proven process, multiple techniques and models and various proven means of execution. A coach must only be intentional when using the tools and the authors show how. I am proud to share that I found my coaching calling by simply trusting the coaching offered in this book and applying the principles daily. My own unique coaching philosophy, my personal coaching methods, and overall success as a professional coach all are developed from the fundamental tools offered in this book "Coach Anyone About Anything". |
A reader (MSL quote), UK

This book is without doubt one of the most powerful books ever written on Coaching. It provides a plethora of "proven" models which are simple to use and highly effective in practice. The "Eagle's view" model is particularly interesting with its use of the flight metaphor. This leads on to a comprehensive audit which can quickly tell you where you (or your client)are, in their flight called "life". Another feature that impressed me was the inclusion of so many usefull checklists ranging from telephone protocol to how to market your coaching practice and business. The book is a unique blend of theory, practice and creativity. It stimulates the reader to apply the models and create a clear purpose and energy into the use of coaching.
I have already used several of the models presented in this book within my business life as a senior line manager and equally with my children (even the teenager!)

This book addresses is how to facilitate transformation in those you are coaching. It starts from the understanding that context is key... (Your context fills in the meaning, obstacles and motivations that you perceive in a given situation.) Then it goes on to illustrate how one can literally generate a different context; one that empowers you and naturally leads to your taking appropriate action which is aligned with your goals and purposes. And of course, it teaches you how to facilitate this for others.
This book will not only teach you how to be a great coach, but it will facilitate you in being someone who makes meaningful contributions to the lives of those you work with.
How wonderful would it be for everyone around you to be breaking through barriers that stopped them and realizing possibilities that inspire us all?
OK... let me bring this back to black and white practicality. These are the intentions and outcomes this book promises (taken from the Introduction):
- Take the mystery out of coaching. - Erase the notion or myth that coaching is difficult. - Discover essential and proven coaching principles. - Experience the magnificence of others (and yourself). - Use coaching models and tools. - Say, "I can do this! I can coach!"
If this is something that you want, buy this book.
