Parenting and pregnancy writer Ann Douglas offers her take on the best and worst of pregnancy, outlining the 10 most common concerns, the 10 most common complaints, and the best aspects of being pregnant. More upbeat than WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING, Douglas's book skims the surface of what you need or want to know during those unique nine months. Kate Reading reads with gentle assurance and a fair amount of humor but at times sounds a bit condescending. That aside, the abridgment gives a generous look at what to expect without bogging the listener down in scary details. Reading provides a voice of encouragement.
